This notice explains what GreenX Scan collects when you use the tool, why we collect it, where it is stored, and how you can ask us to delete it. It is written to meet South Africa's POPIA and, for visitors in the EU/UK, the GDPR.
What we collect
- Photos you take or upload of your rooms, appliances, equipment and (optionally) your electricity bill.
- Audit data you enter or that is derived from your photos — equipment, rooms, estimated usage, your tariff, property details and the resulting report.
- Contact details — only if you choose to request your full report or ask us to get in touch: your name, and your email address and/or WhatsApp number.
Why we collect it
Photos and audit data are used solely to produce your energy report. Contact details are used to deliver the report you asked for. We only contact you about your results, or about GreenX services, if you tick the optional consent box — that consent is separate from report delivery, and you can withdraw it at any time.
Where it is stored and processed
Your photos, audit data and contact details are stored on our managed database and file storage (Supabase). Report-delivery and lead-notification emails are sent through our email provider (Resend). We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with third parties except these processors who help us run the service. Aggregated, non-personal usage analytics contain no photos, contact details, bill values or private audit content.
How long we keep it
We keep your audit and contact details for as long as needed to provide the service and follow up on any request you made, unless you ask us to delete them sooner.
Your rights and how to request deletion
You can ask us to access, correct or delete your personal information, or to stop contacting you. Email info@gxe.co.za and we will action your request. Deletion requests are handled within a reasonable period in line with POPIA and GDPR.
